Chifare will come into your home and serve you and your guests a breathtaking meal from 3 to 8 courses. Chef Alex Gruman and his sous chef will prepare your meal in front of your eyes in your own kitchen.

Chifare's events and dinners are a one-time food event that offers guests a taste of something different. We are committed to serving the best food possible using the freshest ingredients from local farms. Chifare has a small culinary team run by Chef De Cuisine Alex Gruman. With a small culinary team we ensure our food will be memorable and keep you coming back. Chifare does not let one cuisine reflect our style.
Chifare is dedicated to serving great food reguardless of the size or style of event. We at Chifare can cater any event from small in home dinners to large 200 person weddings. Guests will have the ability to get up in-between courses and view the chefs plating your next course. These culinary ideas craft a modern interpretation of their honest, creative cuisine.

Chef Alex Gruman
Where it all started...
At the age of 17 Alex discovered his passion for cooking at a small brasserie in Chelsea Manhattan working with fresh ingredients, local beers and creating great food. He then attended the Culinary Institute of America where he learned everything from fish and meat butchery to french techniques. He did his internship at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton Florida. He had the opportunity to work in many different ala carte restaurants throughout the resort as well as working in the banquet facilities. After returning to the CIA and completing his degree at the Culinary Institute of America he moved to Delaware and worked at Bluecoast Seafood Grill. The restaurant was located on the ocean where he worked with fresh caught fish daily. Alex next returned to Illinois and helped open Grillhouse by David Burke. Alex made the jump to The Renaissance Marriott in Schaumburg. He helped run many different banquet events. Alex is currently working at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Chicago.
Chifare's execution will always be in the hands of the chef. Along with the knowledge, skills, and tools that contribute to the cuisine we serve to our guests. The experience with Chifare allows its guests to dine on food from only local sustainable farms in the area. Farms that use techniques that protect the environment and help foster the development of healthy living for our community. Chef Alex Gruman continues to use Farm to Table traditional cooking techniques with an emphasis on freshness, seasonality, and a constantly ever-changing tasting menu. Chifare's philosophy focuses on a new perspective of bringing diners and farmers together through the knowledge and passion our Chefs create.
